A Kentucky mom's attempt to keep her toddler from escaping her crib went hilariously wrong when the child got caught in a dome-shaped net.
A mom thought she had found the perfect way to stop her infant daughter from falling out of her crib until one morning when she discovered things had gone very wrong.According to a study published in the journal Sleep Medicine in 2019, there are some notable benefits to keeping a toddler sleeping in a crib until the age of at least three.
Researchers found that kids who stayed sleeping in their crib until this age slept for longer stretches, were asleep for longer, woke up less frequently, went to sleep quicker at night and generally exhibited less resistance to bedtime.Danielle Peeler from Kentucky was certainly keen to keep her young daughter Gabby sleeping in a crib for as long as possible. Gabby, however, had other ideas.'Well, she fell out of her crib one time,' Peeler told Newsweek. 'Then she got smart and figured out how to climb out, but I still wasn't ready for her to switch to a toddler bed yet because she wasn't even two.'Peeler was able to hit upon a great solution to thwart Gabby's escape attempts: a special dome-shaped net that sat on top of the crib.Everything was great for a while until one fateful night.'So, I got the net and it was all good for about a year until she finally tried to escape from her crib again,' Peeler said.Gabby's escape attempt wouldn't go quite to plan this time though, as a series of photos Peeler posted to her TikTok, under the username @danielle.0113, show.Rather than make a clean getaway, Gabby ended up getting trapped in the netting and was left dangling by the side of the crib, completely fine but not happy.By the time her mom came into the room, Gabby looked like she had just been dredged up by the net of a fisherman.
