I completely forgot that yesterday was the first full day of fall. The equinox was actually Sunday morning, so Sunday still had that last whiff of summer. Now we’re full speed ahead into autumn. Pumpkin spice lattes are taking over the cafes. Halloween decorations are going up. There’s one house not far from my neck of the woods that has something like ten of those big inflatable dragons in their tiny yard. It’s a bit . . . odd. Obsessive, perhaps. But hey, you do you. That’s what I say.
I chose DELAY today because I had been on a phone call moments before where on the other person’s end, my voice was delayed by several seconds. It came through clearly, but after an irksome wait. This made the conversation somewhat difficult, but we got the job done. From here, I chose PARCH because it had a lot of the letters in the various words I came up with for the Wordle. It was a, dare I say, HANDY word leaving me with just the one possible solution.
