NWS says that dry Santa Ana winds are pushing warm air from the desert all the way to downtown San Diego, and the sea breeze won't provide much relief
The dry Santa Ana winds that arrived in San Diego County on Tuesday have been blowing harder than expected. They’ve pushed warm air out of the desert, through the valleys and all the way down to the coastline.
The National Weather Service says the temperature will be 91 degrees when the Padres host the Phillies in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series, which starts at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday. The seasonal high is 74. A sea breeze will arise during the game. But it will be weak, meaning that the ballpark will remain unusually hot throughout the afternoon. The region’s weather won’t begin to cool until Thursday.
