At 11am EST Forbes will be livestreaming an interview between FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried and Forbes Digital Assets Director of Research Steve Ehrlich. The livestream will occur less than 24 hours before Bankman-Fried is set to testify before Congress.

ntil early November former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried could do no wrong. The 30-year-old former wunderkind, who toldin October 2021 profile that “he got into crypto without really knowing what crypto was”, amassed a $26.5 billion fortune in just four years. Save for Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, nobody that young had ever gotten that rich.

It all changed on November 2, when a leaked FTX balance sheet became public showing that his entire empire was being propped up by a crypto token, FTT, that he invented and largely controlled. Its price crash from $26 to below $2 led to a run on FTX and ultimately its bankruptcy.
