Peter Parker's struggles to control his powers in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man created a major plot hole that the rest of the trilogy ignored.
Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy was key in shaping the superhero genre into what it now is, but it obviously wasn’t safe from plot holes, and it ignored a big one from the first movie. Spider-Man made his big screen debut in 2002 in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, with Tobey Maguire playing Peter Parker and Willem Dafoe as Spider-Man’s legendary enemy Norman Osborn/Green Goblin.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Spider-Man is credited for redefining the summer blockbuster and the superhero genre, and its success made way for two sequels, simply titled Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3. Each one saw Peter facing more issues in his personal life and new enemies, including his best friend Harry Osborn , who became New Goblin in Spider-Man 3 after learning Peter was Spider-Man in Spider-Man 2.
Although this happened before Peter became Spider-Man, it’s curious that none of those students deduced that Peter, who they saw dragging a tray with a mysterious web attached to his body, was the superhero swinging between buildings with webs that come out of his wrists. In addition to that, they also saw Peter fight Flash Thompson in the hallway right after that, even though Peter had always been weak and clumsy and could have never stood a chance against an athlete and bully like Flash.
Should Harry Osborn Had Known Peter Was Spider-Man Before Spider-Man 2? The fight between Peter and Flash has also raised the question of whether Harry should have known Peter was Spider-Man before he learned the truth in Spider-Man 2. Harry and Peter were best friends, and he knew better than anyone else that Peter wouldn’t be able to fight Flash and would be knocked out almost immediately, and he even told Peter that he was “fantastic” after the fight ended.
