A new set of character posters for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem seemingly reveal the creator of the Ooze, who might just be a familiar villain. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is a new reimagining of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, with a heavy focus on the turtles acting like normal teenagers. The movie also features Ice Cube as Superfly, a new villain trying to turn everyone into a mutant.
Now, IGN has released 17 new character posters for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, including one that seemingly reveals the creator of the Ooze. This comes in the form of Baxter Stockman, voiced by Giancarlo Esposito, who seems to be holding a vial of Ooze in his hands. Other character posters include the Turtles, Master Splinter, April O'Neil, Superfly, Bebop, and Rocksteady among others.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Close What Will Baxter Stockman's Role Be In Mutant Mayhem? Baxter Stockman is a mad scientist that has been in many iterations of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Typically working alongside the Turtles' main antagonist, Shredder, Baxter is often credited with creating the Mousers, mechanical enemies the Turtles often face.
While it's not yet clear what Baxter's role will be in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, he is seemingly carrying Ooze in the poster, which acts as the origin for the Turtles' own mutations. With Superfly intent on turning everyone into a mutant, the vial of Ooze Baxter is holding could signify the two are working together.
With Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem early reactions praising the film for its references, the Ooze Baxter holds could also symbolize his turning into a fly mutant during the film. While this could be seen as redundant because Superfly is the main villain, it would be in line with other Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stories. Whether or not Baxter is the true creator of the Ooze might be revealed when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem arrives in theaters on August 2, 2023.
