Hobo with a Shotgun director Jason Eisener makes a case for a violent R-rated Casey Jones movie with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pitch video.
Hobo with a Shotgun director Jason Eisener recently shared his violent Casey Jones pitch for a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. Since the franchise's inception in the 1984 comic book series, the family-friendly anthropomorphic reptile siblings have seen their fair share of adaptations, including various television series, feature films, and video games.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Eisener went on Twitter to share a pitch video for a violent Casey Jones-focused Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Check out Eisener's post and video below: Eisener's hyper-edited video expertly splices dark, moody scenes from various films with snippets from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.Would A Violent Casey Jones Film Work? When Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first landed on television screens in 1987, the show captured the attention of young audiences all over the world. The series ran for ten seasons, massively contributing to the franchise's rise.
2016's Deadpool and 2017's Logan are good examples of R-rated movies that succeeded with the shifted violent content despite the franchises being mostly aimed toward the younger and family-friendly target audience. Each movie performed well at the box office, eventually spawning a crossover in a future R-rated Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
Arnold Bernid "Casey" Jones is an excellent character for a potential mature-themed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. A vigilante who wears a hockey mask and uses a variety of sporting equipment as his weapons of choice, Jones is already an exceptionally fierce individual who undergoes significant trauma in the comic books, including the accidental murder of a teenager that leads him into alcoholism.
