Five people died in the disaster last year when the Titan submersible imploded during a trip to see the wreckage of the Titanic
The head of an investigation into the tragic Titan submersible disaster - which claimed five lives last year - has stated he believes transcripts appearing to be between the sub and its mother ship are "fake".
OceanGate's CEO, Stockton Rush, aged 61, was among those who lost their lives in the incident, along with British-Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, 48, his son Suleman, 19, British businessman Hamish Harding, 58, and Paul-Henry Nargeolet, 77, a former French navy diver.Captain Jason D.
Before any debris was located, a vast search and rescue effort was launched with the faint hope that the crew might survive on the remaining oxygen supplies. In late June, what was claimed to be a "plausible" transcript detailing the final communications between the Titan and its support vessel surfaced online, but US investigators have since dismissed it as a fabrication.
