Chalamet's appearance marked his third time hosting the iconic variety series, but his first as a musical guest.
He introduced the episode in a promo, saying, 'I'm Timothée Chalamet and I'll be the host and musical guest this week on SNL. And Sarah, I was thinking about dedicating one of my songs to you... I was thinking 'Knocking on Heaven's Door.' ' Sarah Sherman, responded, 'Oh, shoot.' During his opening monologue, Chalamet playfully hinted that his musical selections would be some of his favorite songs written by Bob Dylan. He ultimately performed 'Tomorrow is a Long Time' and a mash-up of 'Outlaw Blues' and 'Three Angels,' introduced by former SNL star Adam Sandler. This isn't Chalamet's first time singing on SNL. He made his debut on the show in December 2020, returning three years later in November 2023. He also performed during his second appearance, teaming up with cast member Marcello Hernandez for a rap in his opening monologue about men with baby faces who appear younger than their actual age. Chalamet has been linked to Jenner since 2023. The couple was seen together at several high-profile events, including the Golden Globes.
