Thousands of people from around the world gathered in Times Square on New Year's Eve to celebrate the new year and witness the iconic ball drop. The atmosphere was electric, with people from all walks of life coming together to ring in the new year.

People from all over the world started arriving in Times Square on Tuesday afternoon, December 31st, to prepare for the long wait for the famous ball drop . Times Square, often called the Crossroads of the World, was teeming with thousands from across the United States and globe. The experience, however, is not for the weak. Spectators are confined to a designated area for the duration of the wait and are prohibited from bringing chairs or backpacks.

Some attendees were seen succumbing to exhaustion early, either squatting on the ground or lying down completely. Others remained cheerful, taking selfies and posing for pictures in oversized hats emblazoned with the year 2025. One visitor, Buddy Love, a comedian from Detroit, Michigan, had traveled to Times Square to fulfill a childhood dream of witnessing the ball drop. Arriving at 7 a.m., Love wished he had slept in a bit longer before embarking on a 17-hour wait outside.
