Since 2015, Time Youth has been changing Dothan kids' lives, and now they are expanding to a warehouse to excel further for teens.DOTHAN, Ala. - Since 2015, the Time Youth Center has been changing kids’ lives in Dothan. Now, they are expanding to a warehouse to excel further for teens.
“My drive and passion for this youth center and teen center started when I was young, and I didn’t have a lot of people that were guiding me in a positive direction. I was put up in the streets, but I always knew there was more hope,” Nathan Patterson, the executive director of Time Youth, said. With the community’s help last week, they started a 90-day campaign to raise over $200,000 for a new teen center.
“So our teen center will be focused on workforce development, leadership development and academic success. We will have tutors and we will have certified counselors for social and emotional support. We want our young people to thrive not only in school but in life,” Patterson expressed.“It opened my eyes to a lot of more things in the world that can be done or achieved and just made me a better version of myself. It taught me more things about life and not to be dormant about yourself.
