Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who was named Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, flip-flopped on Second Amendment issues after receiving the NRA's endorsement a decade ago.
Vice President Kamala Harris announced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will join her on the 2024 Democratic ticket for the White House, despite the pair previously having wildly differing views on the Second Amendment and gun control. The bill was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Bill Clinton in September of that year. It enacted a 10-year ban on the manufacture, transfer or possession of 'semiautomatic assault weapons' and 'large capacity ammunition feeding devices.' The law expired in 2004, when George W. Bush was president and Republicans controlled both chambers of Congress.
