TikTok revealed a very interesting fact about their app today. The massively popular app now has over 325 million users in South East Asia, including Malaysia.

Interestingly, the number of businesses being run on this app also rises with the number of its users. A huge number of vendors are now flocking to the app due to its bright potential in the market and its popularity among youth. According to some vendors, they recorded an increase of 50% in sales compared to previous years.

As of the time of writing, over 15 million businesses are have a TikTok account. This might not be so surprising because TikTok is borderless, so vendors could also reach interested users abroad. Given the nature of TikTok as a “shoppertainment” platform, and a leading one too, we might see a bigger number in the future. TikTok also predicted that it could grow into a $1 trillion worth platform for South East Asia in a few years.
