Chicago trailed 2-0 after seven innings but tied the game in the eighth, spoiling a scoreless seven-inning, three-hit outing by Tigers starter Matt Manning. Yoan Moncada popped out, but Jose Abreu doubled past Kreidler’s dive to tie the game. Abreu has a career average of .349 with 118 RBIs in 142 games against the Tigers.
Báez tripled with two out in the fifth, but Jimmy Lambert came out of the White Sox bullpen to strike out Haase.
