The JSE-listed fast-moving consumer goods giant has announced plans to reduce its reliance on Eskom and the national grid.

It plans, through the multimillion-rand investment, to have 65% of its electricity requirements at a manufacturing level derived from sources of sustainable energy solutions by 2030. “This will be done through the procurement of power purchase agreements from independent power producers, as well as other renewable energy options,” it said in a statement.
