Dr. Natasha Seals and her friends planned a trip from Louisiana to Texas to see Usher in concert, but their excitement turned to agony when Dr. Seals discovered her tickets were missing from her Ticketmaster account. She believes a data breach reported by Ticketmaster in May may be responsible.
Dr. Natasha Seals and her friends were excited to attend the Usher concert at the Moody Center on Monday night. They purchased tickets in February and planned their trip from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Austin, Texas.
"The tickets were not uploaded to my app," said Dr. Seals, "Prior to that, I was sent correspondence by Ticketmaster that there was a data breach back in May."Cybersecurity expert Martin Yarborough suggests that Dr. Seals may have been a victim of a phishing scam. Yarbrough said phishing scams like the one Dr. Seals may have fallen victim to-- work when hackers transfer purchased tickets to themselves to resell, " can offer those tickets for sale on any ticket broker site."
Dr. Seals said, at one point, Ticketmaster hung up on her after she waited on hold for over 30 minutes.
