It’s Sunday Night Football on Thursday Night, and open threads are back for fans who want to enjoy talking about football. Or complaining about the Chiefs. Or both.
It’s the first Thursday after Labor Day, and that means just one thing - it’s time for the NFL season to start. Kicking off the 2024 season at Arrowhead Stadium is the two defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Baltimore Ravens. The game is rematch of the 2023 AFC Championship Game played at M&T Bank Stadium in late January, a contest that saw the Chiefs sneak out a 17-10 victory while dominating the time of possession.
In spite of how low scoring the game between these two teams was in January, FanDuel expects more scoring in the Thursday opener, with the over/under at 46.5. That said, while there is an expectation for more scoring, the Chiefs are favored by three at the FanDuel Sportsbook, and until a team can dethrone Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, the NFL is theirs.
