On Sunday at 1:18 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning valid until 2 p.m. for Carbon and Monroe counties.

Published: Jun. 30, 2024, 1:29 p.m."At 1:17 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Bear Creek Village, or near Wilkes-Barre, moving east at 40 mph," says the weather service. "Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible."
