Weekend of sun ahead and Britain set to be hotter than Majorca and Ibiza
The UK is set to see its hottest day of the year so far, but the warm weather will be followed by “thundery breakdowns” on Sunday Thunderstorm weather warnings have been issued for large parts of the UK after temperatures are forecast to rise as high as 26°C this weekend.Yellow weather warnings issued by the Met Office for Sunday between 12pm and 10pm cover North West of England, most of Wales, much of central England and the South West.
In parts of the South East, including London, the mercury is predicted to rise to this level on Saturday and Sunday. Most of the UK will enjoy fine weather and several places could reach the mid-20s further north and in Wales.
