Thunder star Chet Holmgren will be sidelined for several months after suffering a hip injury on a hard fall against the Warriors.

At that point, Holmgren recorded just four rebounds in five minutes on 0-for-3 shooting but needed to be helped to the locker room. The Thunder later announced that Holmgren had suffered a right iliac wing fracture and that an update on his status will be provided in eight to 10 weeks. The team said Holmgren is expected to return this season.

Holmgren, 22, missed what was supposed to be his rookie year in 2022-23 with a Lisfranc injury. He played his actual rookie season last year and helped guide the Thunder to the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.Oklahoma City has soared to an 8-2 start to the season as it looks to repeat as Western Conference champions and make a deep postseason run.

Holmgren entered Sunday's game averaging 18.2 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.9 blocks and 2.2 assists per game on a 52/40/78 shooting split.
