A bizarre mug found in a UK charity shop has gone viral after being shared online. Daniel Harker found the mug, which features a photo of a woman holding a rat and making a scared face, and shared it on social media. The caption sparked curiosity about the mug's history, leading to thousands of likes and comments. Thanks to the internet, they even managed to find the recipient of the mug, Harriet.

A man who shared a photo online of a bizarre thrift-store find could never have expected the massive reaction that followed—and whom the photo would reach.Daniel Harker, 28, lives in Bury St Edmunds in England, and, at a recent stop at a Woodgreens charity store, he was stopped in his tracks.

Many will know some of the weird and wonderful items that can find their way into thrift stores, and, in Harker's case, it was a mug, with a photo of a woman holding a rat and pulling an incredibly scared-looking face. Written on the mug were the words: 'Good luck in your new job, Harriet!'Harker told Newsweek that, the first time he saw the mug, he sent a photo to his girlfriend to make her laugh, and immediately 'wanted to know the story behind it'—including why it had been displayed 'front and center in the Christmas section.'Harker saw it several times in his trips to the store and debated buying it, but, in the end, Harker shared the photo to Facebook group Charity Shop S***, along with the caption: 'I hope Harriet is doing alright.'And it exploded in popularity, racking up over 18,000 likes since being shared on December 16, as one of hundreds of commenters asked: 'I love how very specific that is, who's going to buy it?'Another posted that it was 'a perfect gift for anyone with a colleague called Harriet, who is leaving for a new job—and looks just like the girl in the photo. That'll get snapped up in no time.'Many hoped they would track Harriet down, as one user commented she clearly 'did not appreciate this leaving gift'—and incredibly, thanks to the power of the internet, Harriet herself was found. She commented on the post confirming it was her, and said the mug accidentally ended up in the store after her mother moved house, adding: 'Why she wouldn't want to keep it as a daily reminder of her child's beautiful double chins, I do not know.
