The Bureau of Meteorology has issued weather warnings for New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria this weekend with strong winds and rain set to strike.

Urgent weather warnings have been issued for three states as strong winds and heavy rain are set to lash the east this weekend amid a low pressure system developing off the NSW coast.

She said the lows will gradually start to move away from the coast during Sunday, as “much patchier showers” continue along the east coast of NSW, as well as lower rainfall totals. “We’re seeing large waves being generated behind the frontal system with hazardous surf developing along the northern and central coastline of New South Wales,” Ms Bradbury said.

Severe Weather Update: Wet and windy for eastern NSW with possible heavy falls and flooding for the north-east from tomorrow.Meanwhile, Queensland is set to be lashed on the Gold Coast Waters, K’gari Coast, Sunshine Coast and Morton Bay
