Three police officers disciplined over WhatsApp pictures of two black sisters

THREE METROPOLITAN police officers who received pictures of two dead black women in a group chat have faced disciplinary measures after failing to report the disturbing images to senior officers., Danyal Hussein,The two sisters were later found dead and submerged in undergrowth in Fryent Country Park on June 7th 2020.

The three officers, who are based with the North East Command Unit, admitted to gross misconduct for not raising the alarm bell after being sent the offensive images following meetings on Wednesday. Commander Paul Brogden said: “We are sorry for the truly despicable actions of PCs Jaffer and Lewis, and the behaviour of other officers, and how this has compounded the distress and suffering of the sisters’ loved ones.

“We’re working hard to begin rebuilding the public’s trust and confidence that police officers will protect and respect them.”
