Lancashire Constabulary said they were called to Muncaster Road in the Deepdale area of the city shortly after 11.30am yesterday . It followed reports that a woman has been assaulted.
The force said while making an arrest, three of their officers were assaulted. Bailey Wright, of Woodfield, Clayton Brook, has since been charged with four offences of assault causing actual bodily harm.The 22-year-old has been remanded to appear before Preston Magistrates Court today . In a statement on Facebook, a spokesperson for Preston Police said: "We have charged a man with four offences of assault after an incident in Preston.
"Officers were called to Muncaster Road, Deepdale, at 11.32am yesterday to a report that a woman has been assaulted. While making an arrest, three officers were assaulted. "Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Bailey Wright, 22, of Woodfield, Clayton Brook, has been charged with four offences of assault causing actual bodily harm. Wright has been remanded to appear before Preston Magistrates Court today."
