State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the three, including a woman, were arrested in separate raids in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday ."On Tuesday , a woman lodged a report at the Kuala Pilah police station claiming that a cop went to her house and gave her a number to call.

"When she called the number, an individual claiming to be a police officer from the district police headquarters told her that he can have her husband released on bail and gave her a bank account to transfer the cash into," he said, adding that she was told to bank in RM9,000.The victim did as told but was unable to contact the individual after that.DCP Ahmad Dzaffir said police arrested the suspects the following day.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the same bank account was used in two other cases in Kedah and Pahang. The case in Langkawi, Kedah involved a sum of RM20,000 while the one in Muadzam Shah amounted to RM5,000."We would like to advise the public to be wary of such crimes and particularly if it involved cash transactions," he added.
