Shortly after 5:00 a.m., officers responded to a call of several people shot in the 5700 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, police said. Police said an unknown person in an SUV opened fire on a group of men standing near the corner of 57th and South Cottage Grove in the Washington Park neighborhood.
A 51-year-old man was shot in the nose; a 31-year-old man was shot in the lower right leg; and a 29-year-old man was shot in the right thigh and right calf. No other injuries were reported.Officers on Sunday morning walked around a blue Dodge Charger with multiple bullet holes in its side doors. The car was parked on South Cottage Grove Avenue next to the hospital.
