Only one of the local players included remains alive in the playoffs — North Shore receiver David Amador, who has been a jack-of-all-trades for the Mustangs this season. North Shore will take on Atascocita at 7 p.m. Friday at Randall Reed Stadium in the Region III-6A Division I championship.
Amador has thrived in the role, completing 49-of-63 passes for 974 yards and 10 touchdowns with one interception. He also rushed for 669 yards and 10 scores on just 62 carries. With defensive back Evan Jackson playing some at quarterback now, Amador has been lining up at his natural position more and has 13 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns this season.
