At least 21 people were killed when a bus plunged into a canal in Egypt’s Nile River Delta region. Dr Sherif Makeen, from the country’s ministry of health, said three children were among the dead.
Local media said the minibus was carrying dozens of passengers The driver is suspected to have lost control of the wheel
Mohamed Abdel Haidi, the province’s chief police investigator, said the driver may have lost control of the steering wheel. Thousands of people die in traffic accidents every year in Egypt, which has a poor transport safety record.
