The victim was in a relationship with one of the suspects, while another suspect was pursuing a relationship with her, police said.
PLEASANT HILL — Three people were arrested Friday in connection with the stabbing death of a 37-year-old Pittsburg man earlier this year in Pleasant Hill, police said. The suspects — identified as Pablo Gutierrez-Morales, 31, of Concord, Vanessa Vera-Aguilar, 24, of Antioch, and Jazmin Ruiz, 25, also of Antioch — were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on felony charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder, Pleasant Hill police Capt. Matt Kristic said in a news release.
A months-long investigation revealed the suspects and the victim knew each other as they had all worked together at an assisted living facility in San Ramon, Kristic said. Kristic said evidence showed the suspects planned, coordinated and carried out the attack on Jacobo after he finished his shift working as a custodian at Pleasant Hill Park.
Before he was killed, Jacobo had been in a relationship with Vera-Aguilar, while another suspect, Gutierrez-Morales, was pursuing a relationship with her, Kristic said.Click to print Ask Amy: How can we get this family to move out of our affluent neighborhood?'Biggest heat event of the year' about to settle into Bay AreaMedian home price surpasses $2 million in these two Bay Area countiesAsk Amy: My unsociable neighbor doesn't know about me and his wife.
