SERDANG: Police here have arrested three men for posing as Health Ministry enforcement personnel and extorting money from illegal beauty centres in the Klang Valley.
Serdang OCPD Asst Comm A.A. Anbalagan said police received a report from a beauty centre in Puchong about two weeks ago and began monitoring the suspects’ movements.
He said the two other suspects, aged 38 and 41, were friends of the main suspect and added that the 41-year-old suspect has a record for house break-in cases. He said further checks revealed the suspects had extorted more than 20 centres in Serdang, Petaling Jaya, Selayang, Shah Alam, Bukit Jalil, Sentul and Kuala Lumpur and collected over RM42,000.
