The attraction has returned for another year with the seafront to be lit up until January next year

Murder on the Dancefloor star Sophie, who became a national treasure during lockdown thanks to her kitchen discos, flicked the switch to turn on the six-mile-long installations, which stretch from Starr Gate to Bispham, following a performance of a medley of some of her best-known songs.

But the highlight was of course the moment Blackpool was lit up in a sea of colour, marking the very first night of the 2023 Illuminations.
