More than 3,100 No Kings protests are expected to draw millions Saturday, with dozens across North Texas and every major U.S. city.

Thousands rallied across the DFW Metroplex as part of a nationwide day of protests against the current administration. NBC 5’s Tahera Rahman reports on what brought so many people into the streets across North Texas.

More than 3,100"No Kings" protests drew millions of people across the country on Saturday, in communities large and small and in all 50 states. About two dozen protests were expected across North Texas on Saturday and in every other major city in the state. Outside of Texas, protests were planned in New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Los Angeles and every other major U.S. city.In Dallas, there were an estimated 2,000 attendees with only one person being detained. Fort Woth saw similar numbers with an estimated 1,500 attendees, but no one was detained. The protests have been held since President Donald Trump's second inauguration to challenge policies seen as executive overreach and abuse.Saturday's protests will likely focus on Trump's immigration and economic policies and the ongoing war in Iran.about 10,000 in Dallas . A second wave of protests in October 2025 was estimated to have about 7 million people participating. Organizers, who explicitly state they stand for nonviolent action, expect Saturday's event to be one of the largest single-day nationwide protests in U.S. history. "Our members will be turning out peacefully in the streets, because they believe in a better future for this country and they can't sit by on the sidelines about what Trump and his administration are doing to our home," said Katie Bethell, MoveOn.org."That's why millions of us are rising up from all walks of life, from rural communities to big cities, at No Kings, and as we do so, we will send the loudest, clearest message yet that this country does not belong to kings, dictators, tyrants. It belongs to us and together we have the power to build the country we dream of." The No Kings protests have been largely organized by the 50501 Movement, which stands for 50 states, 50 protests, one movement.
