Christian Bale's transformation as Gorr the God Butcher is chronicled in new behind-the-scenes images for Thor: Love and Thunder. Chris Hemsworth returns to the MCU after Avengers: Endgame in his fourth solo film. Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder will see the God of Thunder going up against Bale's Gorr the God Butcher in the movie.
Disney is running a measured marketing campaign for Thor: Love and Thunder, keeping plot specifics tightly under wraps. But with less than a month to go before the project hits theaters, more details about it emerge. For starters, Waititi confirmed that the film is inspired by romance novels and will see Thor going through a midlife crisis. Meanwhile, his primary adversary in the narrative, Gorr won't be a straightforward villain.

In the caption, he reveals that while the actor was able to shave his head during principal photography for Thor: Love and Thunder, he was unable to do so during reshoots, so they had to outfit him with the bald cap, and as Waititi told them, it looks good.
For context, while Thor: Love and Thunder held its production in Australia, additional work took place in the US. That's what Mixon is referring to in his post. Looking at how seamless they were able to recreate the character's original look, Waititi was right when he said that they did a really great job. In any case, chances are that Marvel Studios was well aware that Bale would be unable to shave his head again during reshoots, perhaps due to another project that he is working on.
