We chat with LastSentinel star Thomas Kretschmann about the sci-fi thriller, his love for director Tanel Toom and his excitement to star in IndianaJonesAndTheDialOfDestiny:
Can you trust your fellow man even after the world falls? That's the question at the heart of Last Sentinel, a tense sci-fi thriller set in a future in which the world has largely flooded over, save for two small continents, and centers on a group of soldiers guarding their homeland who begin a descent into madness when their relief doesn't arrive, causing paranoia among them.
Thomas Kretschmann on Last Sentinel & Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Screen Rant: Last Sentinel is really an interesting film. What really sparked your interest to be a part of it? It's a very heavy message, but at the same time one that needs to get out there. What was it like developing a rapport with your cast, because you all have great dynamics with one another?
Thomas Kretschmann: I don't know, I just do it. [Laughs] I'm a big fan of minimal, you know, less is more. But I have to say, it's all Tanel Toom, the director, because I watch all of us, as I said before, there's usually always at least a certain point where you cringe when you watch something you were part of, mostly it's yourself, bute I don't see the stitches in this movie.
Thomas Kretschmann: When they come and make you part of something like this, it's almost a little bit like you've won the lottery. Even though I've done so much, there's always something else. We all grew up with Harrison Ford, right, and then you're there, and then the first day of shooting, and the first take you do, right away, "Ah, that's why Harrison Ford is Harrison Ford," because there's something you don't learn, you can't describe.
