One amazing cosplay of a Twi’lek Sith Lord brings one of George Lucas’ first ideas for the Star Wars sequels to life with amazing detail.
There are many different alien species in the galaxy of Star Wars, and thanks to this brilliant cosplay, one Twi’lek Sith Lord finally gets to make a debut that she didn’t have in the movies. Long before George Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney and the sequel trilogy went in a new direction, his original plans for the sequels included Darth Talon, a female Twi’lek who was trained as a Sith by none other than Darth Maul.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT An Instagram page titled Marvel Cosplay posted the creation with a caption identifying the cosplayer with the tag @marajadecosplay. The seasoned Star Wars cosplayer, who goes by Mara Jade on Instagram, portrays the character as a Mandalorian bounty hunter with red armor to match the red skin of the villainous Twi’lek. Every detail of the cosplay is carefully taken into account, from Talon’s lekku to her battle-worn armor.
How Would Darth Maul and Darth Talon Have Changed The Sequels? According to Lucas’ original plan for the Star Wars sequels, Leia would have been the primary hero who would ultimately balance the Force, finishing what her father and brother started in the prior trilogies. Darth Talon would have acted as that trilogy’s Vader, having been the one who seduced Leia’s son Ben to the dark side in the first place.
Darth Maul’s role in the Star Wars movies might seem like it was a small one after his apparent death in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, but his shocking return in Star Wars: The Clone Wars changed things completely. He made his live-action debut in a surprise end scene of Solo: A Star Wars Story, but has yet to come back in any subsequent movie.
