Rick Finamore wanted a supercharged Pro Street Mustang that was more than just a fairgrounds cruiser.

It’s a rare moment in time when someone can say they’re still wheeling the very first car that’s been an active part of their life for more than 50 years. Rick Finamore of East Walpole, Massachusetts, owns this1966 Mustang hardtop, and it comes with an amazing story that maps its journey from a used car lot special to becoming one of a select number of influential wide-tire beasts terrorizing the streets on a regular basis.

When it’s time to slow the beast, an ’86 Dodge Omni master cylinder pumps fluid through stainless lines to 11-inch Wilwood discs with matching calipers at each corner. The traditionally styled PS Engineering Trans Am-Series wheels measure 15x3 inches in front and 15x14 in rear and are shod with Vredestein Sprint Classic P155/SR15 and massive Hoosier Pro-Street 31x18.50/R15LT tires.Nothing says I’m here to party like a tower of power in the engine bay.
