How cute is the three-dimensional Grateful Dead bear?
, and so on — one of the many talented artists sharing their work on Instagram finds a way to interpret another unexpected motif as a manicure. The latest: an ode to classic rock done in a truly contemporary way.
On Tuesday, March 10, Los Angeles-based nail artist Vanessa Cooper shared a manicure she did for a client, and anyone who lived through the late '60s and '70s — and anyone who simply appreciates some of the most legendary bands to come out of that era — can appreciate it. It's a tribute to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, and The Rolling Stones, and it's done in such a way that really captures the psychedelic vibes of their early years.
"✨Hmmmm how can I express how much I love doing psychedelic rock nails?? 😜🌈✨," Cooper wrote in the caption of the four-slide post, which shows several angles of the incredible creation. Each nail is coated in a super-sparkly base of holographic glitter and accented in varying rainbow shapes.
"Psychedelic art is one of my favorite designs to do. A few of my clients also love '60s and '70s inspiration," Cooper tells. She says this set took about four hours to create using products from a variety of brands like OPI, Ugly Duckling, IBD, and Daily Charme. "I love the colors, vibrancy, and details of this style."More nail art ideas:
