A business of a This Morning star has incurred over £5 million in losses One of Gino D’Acampo’s restaurant chains has been unable to pay former staff after suffering more than £5 million in losses. The celebrity chef, 47, has been a regular on ITV breakfast programme This Morning since 2009 and has also presented various shows including There’s No Taste Like Home, Let’s Do Lunch, Gino’s Italian Escape and Gordon, Gino & Fred: Road Trip.

At the time, it was reported the chain owed HMRC £113,000 and another £37,000 in staff wages after the three London restaurants were forced to close. Last year liquidators also probed the firm over alleged missing company books and the conduct of its major stakeholders. The £150,000 investigation was launched into why IRG WWR – formerly Gino D’Acampo Worldwide Restaurants Ltd – ended up owing millions after being declared solvent the year before.
