The editor of ITV's This Morning began talking about aubergines when he was asked about the claims of a 'toxic' workplace on the show which have emerged since Philip Schofield left his role as presenter.
Schofield left the show after it was revealed he had lied about having an affair with a much younger man. With This Morning under scrutiny, Sky News shared footage of Martin Frizell being quizzed about recent claims outside his home as he left for work. He said: "I'll tell you what's toxic, I've always found toxic, is aubergine. Do you like aubergine? Do you? But do you like aubergine? I don't like aubergine. "It's just a personal thing." Meanwhile, on the show itself, Holly Willoughby returned to screens for the first time since Philip Scofield left the show. Fighting back tears, she talked about how she felt “shaken, troubled, let down, and worried” for “the wellbeing of people on all sides of what’s going on”.
