Schitt’s CreekMancke is no stranger to DIY costumes and has been creating Halloween outfits for her kids for the past few years, posting them everyday in October leading up to Halloween. In honor ofsweeping the 2020 Emmy Awards, she’s shared one of this year’s DIY costume to her social media a little early.
“We’ve decided to do our month of costumes again this year, like in years past, to bring joy to people, which I know our family needs this year more than ever. After losing my grandmother earlier in May to this virus, we want others to know Halloween isn’t canceled and we can still find fun in new creative ways,” Laurencostume because it is one of our favorite shows, and also to congratulate them on an unbelievable and well-deserved sweep of the Emmys.
Her Instagram post already has over 17,000 likes and more than 800 comments. One person commented, “I can only imagine how much work this is for you, but I just want to make sure you know I love your posts soooo much! I look forward to October because of your genius. Thank you!” Another person humorously wrote, “Halloween goals. Need to have more kids stat.”
According to the outlet, Mancke used primary clothing to create the base for each costume, then using vinyl to add lightning bolts to David’s sweater and a garbage bag for Moira’s dress. In past years, she’s had her kids dress up as characters from, among others—and all the costumes are brilliant. We can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve for the rest of the month!
