And similarly to his fans’ defense for the allegations of racism and anti-Semitism that Matty faces, he has insisted that whenever The 1975 objectify women in their music videos they do it in an ironic way — suggesting that this makes it OK.in 2016, Matty said: “In all of our videos, whenever we’ve used girls, we’re referencing the irony or the parody that should exist.
