The former gym and dance hall has been shuttered since 1982.

The exact details of the redevelopment are unknown. An email and phone call seeking more information from project manager Kyle McCage was not immediately returned. Building owner Tom Reynolds was also unable to talk when reached for comment by the Star-Telegram, but promised to call back later Thursday afternoon.

Reynolds also had plans to redevelop the building into a performance space in 2009, but ran into problems with financing after the 2008 financial crisis. It was needed to address “surplus leisure hours among city dwellers,” according to a Star-Telegram article written just after the building’s opening.
