On June 28, 1979, *** destructive F four tornado destroyed the city of Manson Iowa . The tornado killed three people and demolished hundreds of homes. Survivors couldn't believe what had happened. We never found *** lot of our house. We have no idea where it went. There was nothing left. It was just Everything was gone flat. It was like *** four zone. We've been bombed. The tornado ripped *** path of destruction through the entire town.
Manson's central business district sustained severe damage that included the destruction of dozens of businesses.Since it was still daylight outside when the storm hit the city, many casualties were avoided.
