The 'Chicago Fire' cast is getting a shakeup

Mulroney, who plays Battalion Chief Dominick “Dom” Pascal, won’t appear in the latter part of season 14,reported. Mulroney’s last appearance before his break will be episode 14, which is set to air in February.

According to Deadline, Mulroney may return toward the end of the season. A new character will join the cast during Mulroney’s absence. Rob Morgan plays Battalion Chief Hopkins, who is haunted by his experience overseeing Chicago firehouses and quickly establishes his authority at Firehouse 51. Morgan’s first appearance will be during episode 16.Mulroney made his “Chicago Fire” debut in 2024, at the start of season 13. His character replaced Wallace Boden as Battalion Chief. It took time for the firehouse crew to adapt to Pascal’s leadership style after years with Boden, who was a father figure to many of them.“I literally joined a family there in Firehouse 51,” the actor said during a December 2025 panel hosted by. “It’s an incredible group of people, and we know deep into their past, these characters. So me even joining this cast, to see actors that have played that same part for 12 years, to see how they drop into their character, it was something I’d never witnessed.”“It’s a very different feel there,” Mulroney continued. “It’s so seamless and just a brilliant group of actors who’ve lived in the skin of their characters longer than I’ve ever encountered in my work.” In addition to Mulroney, “Chicago Fire” stars Taylor Kinney , David Eigenberg , Christian Stolte , Joe Minoso , Miranda Rae Mayo , Hanako Greensmith , Jocelyn Hudon and Brandon Larracuente . The first series of the “Chicago” franchise, “Chicago Fire” premiered in 2012. The franchise also includes “Chicago Med,” “Chicago P.D.” and “Chicago Justice.”
