Yes. McKinsey life was very stressful, it was relentless. There was a lot of travel, a lot of eating out, a lot of late nights. I did that for 15 years and my mornings were frenetic from the very moment I woke up; I would answer emails as soon as the alarm went off.

I’m much more conscious now of when I send emails. There was an expectation in consulting that you would always be “on”. It was hard to get out of that mode. Butyou set the pace. I didn’t want that to be the culture. I’ve just discovered the “schedule send” mode in email – I never knew it existed until this job, which is very telling. So now I hold off on sending emails until I am at the office, even though I am reading them as soon as I wake up.
