Manthey Racing has just unveiled its latest manufacturer-backed performance package for the 911 GT3 RS. The body kit makes 2,204 pounds of downforce.
The motorsports team, which the automaker owns a majority stake in, has just unveiled its latest take on the most hardcore 911. Past versions have been over-the-top, but the new kit is something else thanks to a monstrous rear wing that helps it produce over 2,000 pounds of downforce.The BMW 3.0 CS Is an Ageless Stunner, and Collectors Are Taking NoteThe 911 GT3 RS is a track-focused variant of what is already a street-legal race car.
There are also six smaller fins mounted on the roof and aero-disc covers on the rear wheels to help redirect airflow. These new elements combine to produce 2,204 pounds of downforce at 177 mph.Manthey’s has worked on more than just the car’s aerodynamic performance, though. The GT3 RS’s 4.0-liter flat-six has been left alone, but the suspension has been tuned—30 percent more spring rate up front, 15 percent more in the back—and equipped with new shock absorbers.
