Ultrarunner CC Rowe puts her mileage to use by delivering items to those in need during her daily runs.

“I love my neighborhood and I love running,” Rowe said. “I don’t feel like I have much to give to my neighborhood, but this is a good way for me to feel like I’m productive and I’m helping. People really appreciate it, which I love.”

Amid the coronavirus outbreak, Rowe has increased the number of deliveries to daily picks-ups and drop-offs for neighbors who are isolating themselves. Hand sanitizer, cleaning wipes, face masks, games, and food items are common requests these days. On Friday, she did three pick-ups and six drop-offs for a total of 10 miles.

“We’re very neighborly, and I feel like we’re all coming together to help each other out,” Rowe said. “The ability to be the person who can take the last bottle of hand sanitizer in Windsor Park to a woman who just had heart surgery… it’s important.”
