This Alabama airport is the most expensive in the nation, a study shows
a financial services company, is out with an analysis of what Americans are paying for airline tickets, and it rates Huntsville International Airport as the nation’s most expensive.
West Virginia was the highest, at an average of $419.27. Alabama averaged $410.93 and was just behind Vermont. Mississippi followed up with an average ticket price of $398.65. That’s virtually the opposite of other airports. In addition, business travelers tend to purchase walkup fares, which are more expensive, she said.
