“No one knows this, but that voice—the commentator, the umpire—is Pattinson,” director Josh Safdie told the British Film Institute on Tuesday, per Director Josh Safdie and actor Robert Pattinson attend a screening for “Good Time” during the 61st BFI London Film Festival on October 5, 2017.
The filmmaker, 41, who was referring to the British Open semifinals scene at the start of the movie, added: “It’s like a little easter egg. And you’re kind of trying to impress them and they’re trying to impress you. So, to have it with two people, it was more like entering a show.”“That’s kind of what I wanted,” he continued. “I knew that to get to a certain level of energy that I wanted, you have to commit to somebody else’s world. And it seemed like they had a self-contained world that they were a part of, that they weren’t just trying to make a movie or whatever.
