Is this new hair accessory to secret to perfect curls? We put it to the test!
Hair gurus have said for a while now that sleeping on satin is the best fabric for healthy hair, and curl influencers have raved about the effect it has on reducing frizz, even days after washing.
But satin is said to keep moisture on the surface, which should result in silky instead of dry hair. Satin also helps to keep frizz at bay, which is ideal for those, like me, with curly hair. I have tried satin pillowcases in the past because the bonnet look can be less than alluring, but they haven’t kept my ‘fro as neat as wearing a headscarf or turban – so this launch is right up my street.
For the first night I tried just popping it on before bed but when I woke up my curls, which I created the day before by braiding my hair before bed, didn’t look so fresh. They weren’t frizzy but just flattened out. I think if you have naturally defined curls you wouldn’t have this problem.
